Yes, University of Phoenix has been continually accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), hlcommission.org and its predecessor, since 1978.
If you meet your employer policy requirements, your employer may work with EdAssist/Edcor to pay your tuition bill directly using the Employer-paid tuition benefit.
Here’s how the Employer paid tuition benefit works:
1. Request tuition assistance from your employer. Make sure you are eligible to have the agreed upon tuition amount covered by your employer.
2. Provide proof of funding and approval from employer. You may be responsible for the cost of tuition and the materials resource fee if you do not meet the employer course requirements.
3. Enroll in your coursework.
4. Complete your coursework, meeting your employer’s grade requirements.
5. Submit your grade to your employer.
6. If your employer’s eligibility and grade requirements are met tuition and related-education costs up to your employer’s policy eligibility or cap will be paid by your employer to the University, so you pay less for the education you deserve.
7. Please contact your employer to ensure you understand all the details of their tuition benefits plan and what specific costs and how much of your costs are included. Please check with your employer to ensure continued eligibility and grade requirements. Minimum grade requirements vary by employer.
We work with your employer to defer your tuition payment until after your course is complete. If you do not meet your employers' requirements for direct course payment, you are responsible for course tuition and fees upon course completion. If you have exceeded your employer's annual benefit level, you are responsible for all course fees or will need to be awarded federal funding prior to starting a course.
Once you’ve chosen your degree program, you will complete a financial plan that will estimate your costs and explore potential ways to pay for it. We can walk you step-by-step through the process.
Speak with an enrollment representative for more information about your education benefits. Identify your company or organization on your application and let your advisor know the company or organization you are employed with. Finally, identify your company or organization in the University’s Student Portal financial plan before starting courses.
Yes. Our programs are designed specifically for working adults. With online courses, you can attend course online whenever it fits your life, day or night. You’ll also get support by phone, chat or email, available up to 20 hours a day, 5 days a week. And you can start your degree year-round, not just once a semester.
Attending online course is easy because the classroom is always on 24/7/365. All you need is a reliable Internet connection. You simply log in to your virtual classroom to complete assignments, access course materials and resources, and interact with faculty and classmates. Class participation is graded based upon your contributions to online discussions. This is a great solution for students who might have a difficult time commuting and for those who learn better independently.
Applying is easy. Start your application and identify your employer when asked. Or, speak with an enrollment representative and let them know who your employer is. Finally, identify your employer in the University’s Student Portal financial plan before starting courses.
There must be an agreement in place between the University of Phoenix, Inc. (University) and The Boeing Company (“Company”) whereby Company is acting as The Boeing Company’s tuition assistance service provider (hereinafter “Agreement”) for current employees to receive the tuition benefits set forth below (hereinafter referred to as the “Benefits”).
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Benefits, employees must (i) be and remain employed with The Boeing Company; and (ii) must maintain attendance with the University defined as not taking a break longer than 365 days (hereinafter “Participating Employees”).
Participating Employees who are new students and self-identify as a Boeing National Account employee in the University’s student portal (or through any other method of verification the University may require) after the Agreement effective date will receive the benefits set forth below, so long as the Agreement is in effect and has not been terminated. For those Participating Employees who are currently enrolled and already self-identified with the University, the Benefits will apply to your next course and will not be applied retroactively.
The Benefits will apply to Participating Employees who are receiving the standard University tuition rate and cannot be combined with any Alumni or Associate Transfer tuition rates, competency-based programs such as the MBA-CB program or other competency-based programs the University may offer in its discretion, any other University offer or promotion or any other specific program exclusions set forth in the Academic Catalog. For Clarification, nothing contained herein is intended to prohibit Participating Employees to enroll in these programs or use of any Client tuition assistance toward the excluded items listed above.
Participating Employees are subject to the University's admission and academic policies and procedures.
Tuition Benefits
The University will waive the tuition of every sixth (6th) course for Participating Employees who meet the following criteria:
Once a Participating Employee receives the 6th course tuition waiver, the 365-day period will start again from the Participating Employee’s first date of attendance in the next course.
If the Participating Employee does not achieve the 6th course tuition waiver within the initial 365-day period, the 365- day period will commence again from the Participating Employee’s first date of attendance in the first course after the initial 365-day period expired.
The tuition waiver applies only to the 6th course regardless if the Participating Employee completes the course.
If Participating Employee is enrolled in a University bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program prior to the effective date of the Agreement, the benefits set forth herein will apply after the effective date of the Agreement, upon self-identification by the student to the University and upon enrollment in the next course and will not be applied retroactively. Courses taken prior to the effective date of the Agreement will not apply towards the benefits.
Please note: For students using VA benefits, certification of a course solely for monthly housing allowance will use a month of benefit entitlement.
Resource Fees (electronic course material fees and books)
The University will waive the first two (2) resource fees each calendar year (defined as January 1st through December 31st) for Participating Employees until program completion so long as the Agreement is in place and the Participating Employee does not take a break in attendance for more than 365 days.
Term and Termination
If the Agreement is terminated Benefits will immediately cease and will no longer be available to Participating Employees. Participating Employees enrolled in the University as of the termination date will be responsible for payment of all fees and tuition costs (at the then current tuition rate) for their next course and the remainder of their program in accordance with University financial policies and procedures.
