In the ever-evolving work environment, effective leadership requires adaptability, employee engagement, and shared problem solving. Within leadership, coaching empowers individuals, enhances performance, and fosters personal growth enabling both individuals and organizations to achieve goals. Coaching also sharpens critical leadership traits like communication, empathy, and adaptability, contributing to improved employee satisfaction and team cohesion. This white paper provides a simple framework for implementing coaching, emphasizing active listening, powerful questioning, collaborative goal setting, and providing continuous feedback.

Jessica Roper is the director of Career Services at University of Phoenix, where she leads a team of career advisors serving students and alumni in their career planning. She is passionate about mentorship and coaching and driven by helping others succeed in their careers. Jessica is an active member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).
